The research arm of language intelligence.

GAI Labs is where Guildhawk’s twenty-five years in regulated language work meet frontier AI research. We build verification, ambiguity, and trust into systems where a single mistranslated clause carries legal, clinical, or financial weight.

Language is a system of trust, where meaning, authority, and risk travel together.

Founding thesis, 2026

For twenty-five years, Guildhawk has served law firms, regulators, clinical teams, and governments — domains where an ambiguous phrase can move markets, invalidate evidence, or harm a patient.

GAI Labs is our answer to what frontier AI still gets wrong here: it produces fluent output faster than it can be trusted. Our research makes the trust keep up.

Three active programmes, one in development.

Each programme is anchored to a failure mode we’ve seen in a regulated client’s production pipeline — not to a benchmark.

Small Language Models

Domain-specialised SLMs on secure Azure private cloud with a human-verified data lake. Our thesis: for regulated sectors, a small model on the right corpus beats a general-purpose LLM under audit.

Synthetic Audiences

Multi-persona agent panels that stress-test translated and generated language the way a Japanese pharma regulator, a German finance counsel, or a Gulf compliance officer would — before the output reaches a real reader.

Akkordia.A system for linguistic ambiguity.

Exhibit / A

Akkordia is GAI Labs’ first shipped research artefact: a system that finds the moments in a translation where a fluent model is hiding uncertainty. It flags ambiguity at the clause level, ranks risk, and hands verification back to the human reviewer who will sign off on the record.

It is also our proof that Guildhawk was never a translation company. Translation is one output. Language intelligence is the category.
